Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Does the Manor of Ojai accept Medi/Medi for Assisted Living Services provided?
A: The Manor of Ojai is a private pay facility. As such, MediCal and MediCare are not acceptable forms of payment. This may change in the future.

Q: How much does it cost to live at The Manor of Ojai?
A: That is a complicated question. We offer flat rate cost services that are determined by the individual residents needs. In this fashion, the overall cost for those requiring very little care is lower than the costs associated with large care requirements.

Q: Do you take people to the Doctor's office for appointments?
A: In accordance with State law, we provide and/or assist in securing transportation for all medical necessity appointments. Most often, that involves a member of our staff taking the resident to the appointment personally. The reason we do that is to ensure that the physician receives, and is able to give, the specific care information and instructions without having to go through multiple people, thereby reducing the possibility for an error or misunderstanding. There is no additional cost for this transportation and personal interaction with the medical professional within a 5 mile radius of the Facility. Additional charges may apply for appointments beyond this radius.

Q: Do you have Hospice Care available?
A: The Manor of Ojai does have a wavier for Hospice Care resident retention. We do not specifically provide the Hospice Care, but do work well with a number of local Hospice and Palliative Care providers. Additional charges may apply for Hospice and/or Palliative care patient lodging, as to be determined on a case by case basis.
