Change of Facility Access

In response to the recent declaration of a "Local Health Emergency" we have responded by implementing the following restrictions upon those wishing to enter the facility. These actions are necessary to protect our residents and staff. At this time, it is preventative only and subject to change as the health emergency conditions dictate.

All entry points to the facility will be locked.

Although we are discouraging it, entry will be allowed at the Main (front) Doors on Eucalyptus Street between the hours of 9:00 AM and 3:00 PM by
immediate family members only.

All members of the public should be prepared to be screened as only those cleared will be admitted.

This shall be effective until further notice.

We ask that if you have or have recently had a fever, a cough, shortness of breath, or symptoms of the flu, please seek medical attention. You will not be admitted if it appears that you may have any of these symptoms.

We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause, but feel that it is the responsible action to take.

In response to the growing concerns, the Manor of Ojai has already implemented the following activities, to better be prepared for any local threat of the Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19):

  • Contacted, and established an information flow with local area doctor’s offices for patient specific information and sharing of knowledge.
  • A Staff training and education program is currently being formed, focusing on Prevention and Detection.
  • Additional supplies have been ordered/procured in anticipation of any needs for quarantine.
  • Contact with any/all possible caregivers that may be available to assist with any staff shortages that may occur as a result of the threat.

For the more immediate future, standard precautions have been taken and necessary supplies made available. These precautions include, but are not limited to:
  • Avoiding close contact with any member of the public who are sick.
  • Avoiding the touching of eyes, nose, and mouth.
  • Recommending persons who are sick stay at home and not come to the facility.

  • Frequent cleaning and disinfecting of objects and surfaces using a regular housecleaning spray or wipe.
  • Staff and visitors alike are all being provided alcohol-based hand sanitizer, and residents being frequently reminded to wash their hands with soap and water.

Additional steps are being prepared for that would effectively restrict visitation by guests and outside workers, as well as limitation of the times for such. Resident families will be informed of any such limitations when imposed.
